How To Bake Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds are one of my favorite fall snacks.  I love sticking my hand in the pumpkin and pulling out the gooey guts and slimy seeds.  I am going to show you how to make delicious, crispy pumpkin seeds.
I like to go out side to carve pumpkins.  I get one bowl for the seeds and one bowl for the parts of the pumpkin I will not be using.
Carve and gut the pumpkin.

Put the seeds in a bowl.  Add water to help separate the seeds from the guts.
Let the seeds soak for about 10 minutes and then clean out the guts.  It doesn't need to be perfect.
Drain the water.
Add 1 tablespoon olive oil, and salt and pepper to taste.
Let the seeds marinate for about 15 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F.  Spread the seeds on a cookie sheet.
Place in the oven for about 30 minutes.  Make sure to keep an eye on the seeds and turn once or twice so they don't burn.  Take the seeds out of the oven when they turn golden-brown and are crispy.
Store in a glass container for snacking.  They won't last long.  :)

  2. Oh good! Thanks for reading! You can add more spices if you would like, or keep it simple. Either way, these pumpkin seeds are addicting. :)

    1. I didn't think about using coconut oil. Such a good idea. Paprika sounds delish as well!
